How it works

The agreement leads. The money follows.

Every SecurePay agreement moves through the same nine stages. Each one is separate, and each one is recorded.

The SecurePay journey runs in order: People, then Agreement, then Responsibilities, then Money connected, then Conditions and evidence, then Payment Ready evaluation, then Release request, then Settlement confirmation, then Record. Each stage is described below.

  1. 1

    People

Who is involved, and in what role?

Every participant is named with their own KSNumber and their own role. The person who created the agreement is not assumed to be the person who pays.

  2. 2

    Agreement

What exact version has each participant accepted?

The wording that was accepted is kept as it was accepted. Where a change is material, a new version is created and acceptance is asked for again.

A proposed agreement is not an accepted agreement.

  3. 3

    Responsibilities

    Who must do what?

Each responsibility names the person who performs it, what completes it, and anything it depends on before it can begin.

  4. 4

    Money connected

What amount is connected to the agreement, and what is its confirmed state?

An amount stated in an agreement is only expected. Money becomes agreement-controlled once funding is confirmed by the provider record.

Funding initiated is not funding confirmed.

  5. 5

    Conditions and evidence

What must happen, and what records support it?

Conditions describe what the agreement requires. Evidence is submitted to support what happened, and an identified participant records the confirmation.

Evidence submitted is not evidence accepted.

  6. 6

    Payment Ready evaluation

Has the current policy found that the required conditions are satisfied?

Payment Ready means the agreement is eligible to move to the next controlled step. It does not mean settlement is complete.

    Payment Ready is not paid.

  7. 7

    Release request

Has an eligible release been requested?

A release instruction is recorded against the eligible amount. The payment rail may still be working on it.

Release requested is not settlement confirmed.

  8. 8

    Settlement confirmation

Has the payment rail confirmed the final movement?

Settlement is recorded only when the rail confirms the outcome. Until then the position is still in progress.

  9. 9

    Record

What references and events remain available?

References, timestamps and activity records stay with the agreement so participants can understand what happened and in what order.

Payment Ready means the agreement is eligible to move to the next controlled step. It does not mean settlement is complete.

About the examples on this page

Every example, record and status here is demonstration content and is labelled mock. Sandbox records behave realistically but move no money. Live records come from real activity. These pages are not live customer cases.
