What does Payment Ready mean?

Payment Ready means the agreement is eligible to move to the next controlled step. It does not mean settlement is complete.

Why it matters

This is the single most misread state in SecurePay. Telling a recipient 'you have been paid' at Payment Ready creates avoidable conflict.

How it works

  1. 1Every required condition has a recorded confirmation.
  2. 2The current evaluation finds the conditions satisfied and records the result.
  3. 3A permitted participant may then request the eligible release.
  4. 4The rail confirms settlement separately.

A practical example

The estate's CCTV installer finishes testing. The agreement becomes Payment Ready on Friday evening, the release is requested on Saturday morning, and settlement is confirmed on Monday.

Common misunderstanding

Payment Ready is treated as money already in the recipient's account.

What to check before acting

  • Check whether a release has been requested.
  • Check whether settlement has been confirmed.
